Pinewood Derby Fun

Our church held it's annual Royal Ranger Pinewood Derby last month, and for the first time ever, our family entered SIX cars! Yes, we each had a car this year, and it was actually a lot of fun, even though some of us didn't do so well...
We had a dark blue wedge car, a 'Hersheys' candy bar car, a horse-themed convertible, a funky 'Dallas Cowboys' car, a swiss cheese wedge, and a 'Rainbow Racer.' Some raced well and others didn't, but we actually brought home 2 trophies this year! K1 is still having tough luck and has yet to place in her age group, but both boys were quite successful as each won 3rd place in their division!

K3's 3rd place trophy and swiss cheese car.

The whole gang shows off their hard work!

Horsey Heaven

Here are the promised pics with the horses at the stable where K1 now takes lessons. You can see on her face how much she absolutely adores these animals!

She doesn't hesitate to get up close and personal with the horses on our first visit!

Mom and the Krew got to meet some horses, too! What fun!

Her very first horse-riding lesson!

Christmas 2008

My apologies for taking so long to get these pictures posted, but we certainly had a lot of fun at our house this Christmas!

Daddy reads the Christmas Story to the Krew before we open presents.

One final photo before the madness ensues!

K3 and K4 model their new aprons and chef's hats.

K4 rips into her brand new kitchen set - she cooks for us almost every day!

K3 tears open his big gift - a tool bench with tools.

K2's big surprise was an electric guitar - in Dallas Cowboys blue, no less! He is having a great time learning to play (and so is Dad!).

Speaking of Dad, he was shocked to find one of the cymbals from 'Guitar Hero 3 - World Tour' in amongst his Christmas gifts!

...and here he is breaking it in with the big kids! What a band!

Now - saving the best for last...

K1 has become a HUGE horse lover over the past year, yet she has never ever ridden one! So, for Christmas, we got her horse lessons, which include a free pass to the stables whenever she wants to visit. We put cowgirl boots under the tree for her, and with them was the certificate for her lessons. She was surprised by the boots, but once she read the certificate, she started to cry, and in turn, so did we! Everyone got big hugs, and it made for the best Christmas experience we have ever had. She has since had 3 lessons, and I will post pics of her with the horses
sometime soon.

Finally, the aftermath...
