Turning 2!!

Our little princess turned 2 on Labor Day this year...hard to believe, but it was a good day nonetheless. K4 is a bit obsessed with "mee-nows" (a.k.a. rainbows), so we looked everywhere for 'rainbow' party supplies, but had no luck. We compromised with colorful Dora decor and Mommy made a rainbow banner for the front door and a rainbow cake as well. We also found a rainbow shirt for K4 to wear on her special day. :)
The day began with a trip to the donut shop for breakfast, and then it was off to the "Animal Creation Station" to let each of our Krew make their own stuffed animal. This was a new experience for us, but we really enjoyed ourselves, although K4 preferred to run around and check everything out rather than choosing and creating her own animal! We finally got her to pick one, and she chose a "Moo-Moo" (cow). K1 chose a brown dog, K2 a cute green frog, and K3 a long-eared black and white dog. After that, we went home for lunch and were later joined by Mom's side of the family for presents, pizza, and birthday cake.
The celebration was a wonderful break from all of the latest work on the basement, and K4's excitement about all of the "mee-nows," "Doo-wahs" (Doras), and "happy cake" definitely added to our growing list of fun memories.
Happy Birthday, Baby Girl! We love you!

Mmm...cake for breakfast! Doesn't get any better than that!

Have you ever seen such excitement over a birthday card?!?

Oooh...fun new ABC books from Grandma and Grandpa!

Waiting patiently to blow out the candle - wait for it...

...now! Got it on the first try!

The Krew is ready to snuggle into bed with their new animal friends!

Trying out her new "bap-pap" (a.k.a. Backpack) the next morning. We love to play Dora!
