For any of you that may check out our blog site from time to time, we just ask you for your prayers tonight (I guess it's actually morning now). After several storms coming through our area, apparently the ground was too saturated to hold any more, so when another enormous storm system came rolling through around 9:15 pm, the water had nowhere else to go except our newly finished basement!
The egress window wells in our 2 basement bedrooms filled up to the brim and began POURING into the bedroom windows around 10 pm, and after numerous attempts to get it contained while the storm continued to dump more and more rain, we finally gave up.
The result is that our entire basement is now ankle-deep in water...
We praise God that the storms have finally passed, because we were in line to continue getting pounded until around 4 am! So anyways, my husband is now back outside pulling bucketful after bucketful out of our window wells, and I am in here praying that God would spare us any further damage.
My heart breaks for my husband and all of the tremendous work he has put into finishing our basement these last 5 years...I pray that there is not so much damage done that we need to undo any of what he has worked so hard at. Furnishings are easily replaced (pray for insurance to come through on that!), but I don't know how we would handle tearing out all of those new walls and starting over...
Anyways, please pray for our family! And for our backs as well; we are both in a lot of pain right now. Thank you. :)

I have been thinking about your family during every storm as we watch the radar, listen to the scanner and hear Bennet getting pounded again. Aaah! God Bless you. We will say some extra prayers!
